We make your purchase as quick and simple as possible so that you immediately know the total cost of your order including delivery costs.  During checkout, the cost of postage and packaging will be added based on the shipping method you have selected.

Delivery costs are calculated on the total weight of the items in the shopping basket and the country destination.  In the vast majority of cases the standard charge will accurately reflect costs incurred.   However, the multiple alternatives around package size or destination sometimes means that we can utilise a lower cost than estimated in the standard charge.  In these instances, where actual costs are significantly less than the standard charge and payment is by credit card, we will refund excess cost directly to your card subject to our standard minimum charge.  In exceptional circumstances, we will notify you where the delivery charge needs to be increased from our standard charge.  Our minimum postage and packaging charge is £2.50.

All orders are dispatched from our UK warehouse and our overall aim is to dispatch within 24 hours of order receipt, although normally the time between order and despatch is much shorter with the majority being same day.

Your order will be securely packaged to provide the maximum possible protection against damage in transit.  We only use new purpose made card packaging such as book-packs; we will never send books or magazines in envelopes, padded or otherwise.

All orders are dispatched at buyers risk.  We always obtain a proof of our despatch.

UK Deliveries

For UK deliveries our standard despatch is by Royal Mail and Courier Delivery. 

For Royal Mail postage, the checkout process will give a choice of either First or Second Class.   We obtain a Royal Mail Certificate of Posting or Signed For tracking number for all despatches.

Our Courier rates are subsidised to make you book buying as economical as possible.  For packages up to 5kg cost is £9.00.  We use reputable courier companies only - eg. UPS or DHL.  Please note that courier packages to Northern Ireland, Scottish Highlands and Islands, and Channel Islands cannot be despatched within this courier rate and we will contact you regarding the shipment if you have selected courier delivery to these areas.

Worldwide Deliveries

Airmail or Courier delivery is available for shipping to Europe.  These are also offered for Rest of the World (ROW) countries, together with Surface Mail. 

Royal Mail aims to deliver Airmail to Europe within three days and Worldwide within five days.  However, for many countries our experience is more normally around double these times.  We obtain a Certificate of Posting.

Surface Mail is a lower cost option for heavier packages.  However, please note the that delivery guidelines are very long - North America up to 6 weeks; South America, Africa and Asia up to 8 weeks; and Australasia up to 12 weeks.

Airmail or Surface Mail can be tracked, providing greater speed and assurance, with the possibility of follow-up in the case of non-delivery.  Tracking to final destination is dependent on the destination country providing this service. 

Courier delivery aims for next working day to most parts of Europe and within three days for many counties outside Europe.    We use reputable courier companies only - UPS or DHL. 

As noted above, our standard rates cannot possibly cover all countries and restrictions and we will advise where your order cannot be fulfilled within the standard shipping charges.

In accordance with our terms and conditions, orders are sent overseas at the book cost and shipping charges.  The buyer is solely repsonsible for any tax, duties or administation expenses imposed on receipt in the delivery country.    

Missing Parcels

We retain images of parcels immediately before being passed to the shipping company and despatch notificantion is sent.  Tracking is available if this service has been selected on the order.

Where a parcel has been despatched but not received, please advise us within 10 days for courier deliveries and within 21 days for Royal Mail deliveries: these time limits are due to shipping company notification deadlines and we cannot follow-up with those companies or refund the order outside of these timeframes.
