Railway Accident - Report on the Derailment that occurred on 19th December 1973 near West Ealing in the Western Region British Railways
Report on the accident involving 1007 "Western Talisman" on a Paddington to Oxford service. A locomotive battery box door was insecurely fastened, fouled the points and caused the derailment in which ten passengers died.

Railway Accident - Report on the Collision that occurred on 26th October 1975 at Lunan Bay, between Montrose and Arbroath in the Scottish Region British Railways
Collision of light locomotive 40111 with an Aberdeen to King's Cross passenger hauled by 47418. The Class 40 embedded itself underneath the body of the rear coach. Despite major damage and the start of Class 40 withdrawals, 40111 was repaired.

Fatal head-on collision of a freight train hauled by Class 20s 8115 and 8142 with a parcels hauled by Class 25 7605. The extensive damage resulted in the withdrawal of 7605.
