Railway Accidents - Report on the Derailments that occurred on Continuous Welded Rail Track at Lichfield, Somerton and Sandy, British Railways, during June and July 1969 and on the General safety of this form of Track
Enquiry into CWR track distortions after its first introduction by BR in 1962. This analysed reported incidents in 1969 and focused on four separate derailments related to track buckling. An initial report was issued in 1970 and the final in 1974.

Derailments of Class 47 47470 on Inverness to Glasgow passenger and 47500 'Great Western ' on a Hereford to London passenger. Both accidents were caused by the fracture of fishplates at bulkhead joints. Report with photographs and drawings.
