Tail Gunner
Rivaz's account of Bomber Command in 1940 and 1941 flying Whitleys and Halifaxes. He was tail gunner to Leonard Cheshire and flew in night missions over targets such as Duisberg, Dusseldorf and Essen and was awarded his DFC for his part in the bombing of the battleship Schanhorst in Brest harbour. Rivaz was killed in October 1945 when a passenger in a Liberator accident.
